Conclusion

We hope that this cross-cultural skills training has provided you with the opportunity to improve upon your ability to communicate with a culturally diverse set of people, and to monitor and adjust your behavior in such a way that you will result in improved interactions with those from different cultures. Please feel free to re-visit this site as often as you would like; it will always be here for your reference.

We encourage you to remember that the wide variety of differences found between cultures can have significant implications for someone moving to a new country. Moving one's life from one continent to another brings a wide variety of practical challenges, but these challenges are compounded by vast differences in the structure of society and the behavioral norms of the new location. Whether you are working with someone who has recently moved to your country, or you ARE this person, please remember and use the knowledge and skills that you have gained from this training. We wish you luck and success in your future cross-cultural interactions and adventures.

Continuing on the Road to Knowledge...

A large amount of information related to culture and cross-cultural awareness and understanding is available online, and often, this material is of dubious quality. This website contains what we consider to be material from the best sources, however, we readily acknowledge that there are many other useful sources of information. Remember that the training you have just received is of a very general nature, designed to assist you in interacting with people from many different cultures. If you are moving to or visiting a new country, you may want to learn more about the specific cultural characteristics of that country. Listed below are several links and books that may be able to assist you in further developing your cross-cultural savvy.
